C Venues (Edinburgh Fringe)

based on the novel by Eleanor Updale

From the slimy depths of Victorian London’s sewers, to the aristocratic world of the upper classes, an ex-convict assumes two identities; Montmorency, a noble and wealthy gentleman, and his degenerate servant Scarper, a cunning thief.

An incredible ensemble cast burst onto stage in this world premiere adaptation of the best-selling novel by Eleanor Updale.

Montmorency is a fast paced tale of crime, drama and the dark and dank lives of the Victorian underworld that follows one man in his struggles to make himself anew.

Mixing the grime and violence of Dickensian London with the humanity of those thrown together by fate and chance, Montmorency asks us all to consider what it is that really makes us who we are.
