We are very excited to announce our next show! Premiering at Reading Fringe Festival this July, we are reviving one of our most-loved devised characters.
In 2011, back in the early days of FreeRange, we booked a theatre in the heart of the West End, Leicester Square Theatre, and for one performance only (during the weekend of the Royal Wedding, no less,) we presented C-Dub: How I Became a Hip-Hop Megastar to a tiny audience. It’s left behind something of a legacy, and the seventeen or so people who were lucky enough to see it have often jokingly begged for a revival. Though the show was hugely under-prepared and completely crazy, it had something original and exciting at its centre. Since 2011 we’ve been working on redeveloping the piece, stripping it right back to its central concept.
This year, we finally think it’s the right time to show people the new C-Dub. Our show at Reading Fringe is the brand new production, with new songs by our composer Ed Williams who worked on the original show, choreography by our resident choreographer Rowan Ilsley and book by FreeRange’s Creative Director Isabel Brodie. It’s fresh, funny, and still completely bonkers.
There are a very limited number of tickets available, so we recommend booking in advance.
We look forward to seeing you there!
