Edinburgh Blog Post 2

Yesterday I arrived in Edinburgh and after sitting next to a rather smelly man on the train, I was grateful to breathe in the crisp Scottish air. For those of you who have never been to Edinburgh, or Scotland for that matter, I can safely tell you it’s beautiful, boasting stunning landscapes and a vibrant city atmosphere.

However it’s noticeable during the Fringe that this city buzz is amplified, the streets come alive with performers and entertainers. Crowds of people invade the cobbled pavements to see what the city truly has to offer and you can’t help but feel sweet anticipation for whatever’s coming next… Which is usually to be bombarded by flyers and used as a pin board for the vast variety of entertainment the festival has to offer.

In short, everyone should experience the Fringe. I can guarantee you there will be something you enjoy, from eclectic Cabaret to crap comedy… And after a long smelly train ride, I could think of nothing better than to sit in a cave (the ‘Just the Tonic @ the Caves’, cave to be precise), and watch an energetic, invigorating performance of FreeRange’s production of Cymbeline.

It was at that moment, I knew I had arrived at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2013.
